Just before the opening of the Udvar-Hazy facility of the National Air and Space Museum Betty Skelton's recently restored Pitts 'Little Stinker' was hung in the entryway. Here are some great new pictures of the plane and some old pictures of Betty. Yes, it's a commercial, but the flying, filming and editing are a joy to watch. Originally aired during the 2000 Olympics, it's a demonstration of why she is one of the most popular airshow acts in the world.
2/6/2003 - OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM
Early on Jan. 31, a KC-135 Stratotanker took off from Kyrgyzstan, carrying more than 180,000 pounds of fuel and an all-female crew marking the first all-female crew to fly an air refueling mission into Afghanistan.
 Not long after we posted the first Ladies Night picture, we received this picture from a very proud husband of his wife and her crew of aerial refuelers. Won't it be great when we are unable to post these pictures because we have so many of them?
As recently as 1971, a girl that wanted to become a pilot was...unusual...to say the least. One woman sent us this picture to demonstrate just HOW unusual. But in 2007, it's become a lot more fashionable to demonstrate your passion for aviation.

Women Fly has been following the progress of one flying student, and now she's finally earned her wings. Congratulations Jessica! We would never condone the use of violence, but seeing Betty's t-shirt in action was a real thrill. You go girl!
