Bessie Coleman Youth

Bessie Coleman Youth

Bessie Coleman Youth

Racism and sexism were a sign of the times, but "Queen Bess" had her sights set far above the pit of prejudice. Denied access to flight instruction in America, Bessie became fluent in French and, in 1921, crossed the ocean to realize her dream. As the first African American to earn a pilot's license, she defied injustice and won. In 1995, Bessie became the eighteenth honoree in the US Postal Service's Black Heritage Stamp Series.

Design prints on a 100% cotton unisex maroon youth t-shirt.
